BECKY NOSTRAND
DVM, CVA, CHPV
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Nostrand attended the University of Georgia for both her undergraduate (‘97) and veterinary (2001) degrees. She then completed an internship in small animal emergency/critical care medicine outside of Boston, MA. She practiced in emergency and general practice in Massachusetts, then northern Virginia, until 2007, when she and her husband moved to north county San Diego to enjoy its perfect weather and wealth of outdoor opportunities.
In her search for more options for pain relief and symptom management, she obtained her acupuncture certification from Colorado State University in 2009. Her interest in pain management, geriatrics, and constantly seeking a “3rd option” for terminal diagnoses led her to obtain her certification in Hospice and Palliative Care medicine from the IAAHPC in 2021. She has been providing in-home acupuncture, advanced pain management, comfort care, and end-of-life care since 2022, but she’s thrilled to be back in the hospital setting with this outstanding team!
Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the local hills and mountains, cooking, travelling with her family, watching UGA football, and snuggling with the two "Supermutts” her family rescued while spending a month in Barbados during covid. She also spends time helping pets of unhoused and other under-served clients with both Project Street Vet and Helen Woodward’s Pets Without Walls.
